JERSEY BARRIERS

The Jersey Barrier was originally developed at Stevens Institute of Technologyin Hoboken, New Jersey and thus the reason for its clever name. The State of New Jersey has been using these cement dividers since the 1950s and it seems that since about that time skaters have hit them up. In honor of the 50th anniversary of people skating Jersey Barriers Red Bull is proud to present THERED BULL JERSEY BARRIERS CONTEST where 12 of the East Coast's most prominent skateshops are given their own fabricated Jersey Barrier and for the next three months film, gather and post footage of their team riders, friends, family, visiting pros and couch touring vagabond skaters sessioning the barrier. Clips will be uploaded to this website. Shops are encouraged to post new footage as often as they like, so be sure to keep checking back for constant updates.

The fabricated Jersey Barrier is 32" high by 8' wide and is easily movable with two skateboards underneath.
